Description

Malecon Tajamar is located in the north area of the Zona Hotelera. The freshwater ponds and lush vegetation attract a variety of both resident and migratory birds. The area is divided into rectangles with walking paths and roads running around them, making it easy to explore. Birds you can observe include Ruddy Crake, Green Kingfisher, Zenaida Dove, Least Bittern, Black Catbird, Orange Oriole, Yellow-tailed Oriole, Rufous-browed Peppershrike, Plain Chachalaca, Common Pauraque, Squirrel Cuckoo, Cinnamon Hummingbird, Yucatan Jay, Yucatan Vireo, Mangrove Vireo, Yucatan Woodpecker, Russet-naped Wood-Rail and Black-necked Stilt.

Access

Malecón Tajamar is located in Cancún’s Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera), along Avenida Rbla. Fonatur, overlooking the Nichupté Lagoon. If you’re already staying in the Hotel Zone, it’s a short drive or even walk depending on your hotel’s location. From downtown Cancún, you can take a taxi, rideshare, or public bus routes that pass through the area.
