Artificial lake that was created by the damming of the Rio Palmas. A good place for birding on Sardinia with a chance on special and sometimes rare birds.
The artificial lake of Monte Pranu was born in 1951 with the construction of the dam bearing the same name, with the damming of the Rio Palmas. Among the birds you can see here are kačica divá, kazarka pestrá, sliepočka vodná, hus divá, lyska čierna, potápka chochlatá, volavka popolavá, volavka purpurová, beluša veľká, hltavka chochlatá, beluša malá, orol malý, kaňa močiarna, kršiak rybár, sokol myšiar (pustovka), myšiak hôrny, sokol ostrovný, sokol sťahovavý, lelek lesný, hrdlička poľná, kukučka obyčajná, rybárik riečny, sultánka modrá and strakoš červenohlavý.

Italiano: Il Lago artificiale di Monte Pranu nasce nel 1951 dalla costruzione dell'omonima diga,con lo sbarramento del Rio Palmas. Alla quota di massimo invaso, prevista a m 45,50 s.l.m., il bacino generato dalla diga ha una superficie dello specchio liquido di circa 6,980 km² mentre il suo volume totale è calcolato in 63 milioni di m³. La superficie del bacino imbrifero direttamente sotteso risulta pari a 436 km².
