Description

Kilberry Bog is a fantastic winter birding area as it has myšiarka ušatá, plamienka driemavá and sometimes myšiarka močiarna. It has myšiak hôrny, sokol kobec, jastrab krahulec, sokol myšiar (pustovka), sokol sťahovavý and kaňa sivá. There are kačica divá, kačica chrapka, močiarnica mekotavá, močiarnička tichá, kulík zlatý, cibík chochlatý, kulík piesočný and occasionally kalužiak perlavý. It also has labuť veľká and labuť spevavá.

Access

You can access Kilberry Bog by car as far as the edge then walk around. There are several laneways which lead to it and cars can be parked at the roadside so long as you don't block access or gateways. Click on the P in the map for directions.

As well as the birds listed earlier, there are a lot of small songbirds like strnádka obyčajná, pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý, ľabtuška lúčna, škovránok poľný, strnádka trstinová and various finches.
