Városliget Park is Budapest’s grand central park, a huge green space of 120 hectares that has been a public park for more than two centuries. The park has wide paths, big lawns, and a large number of trees and shrubs, as well as several bodies of water and fountains. Birds you can observe include kormorán veľký, volavka popolavá, stehlík obyčajný, brhlík obyčajný, sýkorka veľká, sýkorka belasá, červienka obyčajná, drozd čierny, škorec obyčajný, drozd červenkavý, ďateľ veľký, drozd čvíkota, straka čiernozobá, vrana popolavá, kavka tmavá, vrabec domový, vrabec poľný and kačica divá.

Access
Városliget Park sits on the Pest side of Budapest, just northeast of the city center. Easily accessible by public transport (metro, buses). Metro line M1 (Yellow Line), runs directly to the park. If you get off at Hősök tere (1), you step out practically at the edge of the park. If you ride one more stop to Széchenyi fürdő (2), you arrive deeper inside the park. The park is best explored on foot, but there are also designated cycling paths.
