Description
The ruins of the ancient Greek city of Epidauros are renowned for its Sanctuary of Asclepius, a healing center dedicated to the god of medicine, and its ancient theater, which is still celebrated for its exceptional acoustics. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
But around the site also plenty of birds can be observed, especially in the early hours of the day. Birds that are regularly spotted in the area include hadiar krátkoprstý, jastrab krahulec, sokol myšiar (pustovka), výrik lesný, kuvik obyčajný, dudok chochlatý, strakoš červenohlavý, krkavec čierny, sýkorka smútočná, strnádka svrčivá, penica sivá and pipíška chochlatá.

Epidauros is located on the Argolid Peninsula in the northeastern Peloponnese close to towns like Palaia Epidavros and Nea Epidavros. Press P on the map for directions. Opening Hours: Winter (November - March): 08:00 - 17:00, Summer (April - October): 08:00 - 20:00. Entry Fee: April - October: € 12 (2025), November - March: € 6.
