Description
Avlaki Gorge is a beautiful 2 km long canyon that offers a scenic but steep descent towards the abandoned Katholiko Monastery (2). It's a beautiful walk towards the sea. In the mountain walls of the valley there are also several caves (1). The hike through Avlaki Gorge is relatively easy and can be completed in about an hour. The path is mostly downhill, but it's advisable to wear good footwear and bring plenty of water. At the end of the gorge, you'll find the Katholiko Bay (3), a slender, rocky fjord with deep blue waters.
