Description
The area of Windknollen - close to the city of Jena - is a small mountain with a mosaic landscape containing mostly semi-dry short grass vegetation, temporarily water-filled depressions, bushes, mixed deciduous forest and isles of pine trees. Once a military training area it is now a little nature reserve (185 ha). Typical birds here are škovránok poľný, škovránik stromový, strnádka lúčna, strakoš obyčajný and pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý. You can also easily find strnádka obyčajná, žlna sivá , sýkorka uhliarka, sokol myšiar (pustovka) myšiak hôrny and haja červená.
