Nice birds can be seen on this beautiful mountain top (1838 meters) in southern Germany. And close encounters with čavka žltozobá.
The Wendelstein mountain peak is located southeast of Munich, near the border with Austria. You can go up by railway, cable car, or on foot. Many bird species can be seen at the top of the mountain. The number 1 species that you are actually guaranteed to encounter here: čavka žltozobá! They roam around the mountain top in large groups. The birds come very close. Furthermore, there is a good chance of flying birds of prey, krkavec čierny, hýľ obyčajný and vrchárka červenkavá.
Please note, the walk at the top takes some time! If you want to have a lot of time at the top, it is advisable to take the cable car or railway up.
The Wendelstein mountain peak is located 50 km southeast of Munich, close to the town of Bayrischzel. Park at the 'Wendelsteinbahn' car park, or if hiking in a car park at the bottom of the mountain. Click on a P in the map for directions. In summer it can be very hot at the top of the mountain!
