A cemetary in the midst of Dresden suitable for a short birding walk.
The Trinitatisfriedhof is a cemetary in the middle of Dresden that offers a nice and quiet walk as well as a few bird species common in parks and forests. This includes sokol myšiar (pustovka) (which breed regularly in special nesting boxes in the university hospital Carl Gustav Carus nearby), vrchárka modrá , králik zlatohlavý , králik ohnivohlavý , kolibiarik čipčavý , pinka obyčajná , sýkorka veľká , sýkorka belasá , drozd čierny , žľtochvost domový , vrana popolavá , holub hrivnák , jastrab krahulec and more. Also, with a lot of luck, you may spot a myšiarka ušatá in one of the conifers (unregular breeding spot).
The Trinitatisfriedhof is located east of Dresden city center. If by car, you can park on Fiedler street. Bikes can be parked at any of the entrances. If by public transport, depending on the bus/tram line, you can exit at "Trinitatisplatz" or "Blasewitzer Straße / Fetscherstraße".
This cemetary hosts the graves of many famous individuals with the renowned artist Caspar David Friedrich being one of them. So if you visit this cemetary, it is worth checking out those details if you are interested.
The cemetary opens at 08.00 and closes - depending on the season - between 16.30 and 20.00 hrs. For the exact closing times of the cemetary, see attached link below.
