Description

The Teterower See is a lake that is approximately 3.3 kilometres long and 1.9 kilometres wide, with an average depth of 4 metres. The lake becomes wider and shallower from south to northeast. On the western shore of the lake you find the 70 hectare Binsenbrink Nature Reserve (1). The reserve includes the Sauerwerder peninsula (2) and serves to protect and preserve the lakeside moor as well as the shore area of Teterower See. Opposite Binsenbrink is the elongated island Burgwallinsel which has an observation tower. The lake and the surrounding area is home to many migratory and resident birds.
