Description
Since the renaturation was completed in 2002, the Seeanger has developed into an important area, especially during migration mainly for waders and ducks. A five hectar pond is surrounded by wet meadows, reeds and a few scattered bushes making this a diverse site attractive to a wide selection of species. Spring migration is best with kačica hvizdárka, kačica lyžičiarka, kačica ostrochvostá, kačica chrapka, kačica chrapačka and kačica chripľavka all occurring regularly in March and April. 32 wader species have been observed here with bojovník bahenný, kalužiak tmavý, kalužiak perlavý, kalužiak močiarny and močiarnica mekotavá being regular migrants. However numbers of birds are dependant upon water levels.
The Seeanger is used as a breeding site by species like cibík chochlatý, kačica chripľavka (not every year), chriašteľ vodný, slávik modrák or svrčiak slávikovitý. In winter, the area is usually quiet with only few birds around though fúzatka trstinová turned up regularly in the last few years.
