In Schellbruch reserve close to the city of Lübeck you find different types of habitats with a great variety of birds in a rather small area (although the complete reserve is not small at all. The reserve is managed by the NABU (German organisation for protecting nature) and a local organic farmer.
Good all year through but best in late spring. Fantastic place for slávik modrák, svrčiak slávikovitý, fúzatka trstinová, orliak morský and Woodpeckers. In autumn also great flocks of geese in some years. kulík riečný and cibík chochlatý occur as well as rybárik riečny. Winter is good for strakoš veľký, potápač malý, potápač veľký and sometimes bučiak veľký.
