Seasonaly flooded meadows and a mix of surrounding habitats with a good variety of birds all year round.
The Salmenwiesen meadows are easily accessible and offer a good mix of birds all year round, especially at times when there is water on the meadows and in the ditches. When the meadows are flooded, a good number of birds use the meadows as a place to feed and rest. hus divá, bernikľa veľká, volavka popolavá, sliepočka vodná, kačica divá and vrana čierna are nearly always present. At times they are joined by bocian biely, kazarka hrdzavá and kačica chrapka.
During spring migration it is possible to see pairs or small groups of pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý and trasochvost žltý. If you are lucky, you may see močiarnica mekotavá , svrčiak zelenkavý or even a rarity such as a hltavka chochlatá! During spring and summer there is a good chance of observing penica obyčajná, strakoš obyčajný and lastovička obyčajná. Birds of prey can also frequently be observed soaring over the meadows.
In winter, ľabtuška lúčna and trasochvost biely are usually present and can be heard and seen foraging on the meadows and in the reeds.
