Description

Nesselwanger Weiher is pond complex divided into several rapidly warming shallow water zones. In summer, emperor dragonflies, broad-bodied chaser dragonflies and many other species of dragonflies hunt for food. Amphibians such as frogs and newts spawn in the pond in spring. The growing reed belt is intended to become home to reed breeders. The pond is surrounded by wet meadows, which are grazed by cattle. The grazing creates valuable micro-habitats: meadow birds such as bocian biely and wagtails look for food in short grassy areas. An observation platform is available on the southern edge of the pond landscape. Among the birds you can observe are haja červená, sokol myšiar (pustovka), kačica divá, húska štíhla, hus divá and lyska čierna.
