Description
The Langwieser See is a small lake. The lake itself isn't very good for birding, but sometimes you can spot rybárik riečny there. In the reed area about 100 meters east of the lake, in winter you can see for example strnádka trstinová and sometimes also chriašteľ vodný. In summer it's full of trsteniarik bahenný. West to the lake, there are nice water reservoirs, which in winter often contain močiarnička tichá (best to spot with a thermal imaging camera), and sometimes močiarnica mekotavá.
South to the reservoirs, there is a smal bush land with strnádka obyčajná, stehlík obyčajný and in winter often pinka severská (ikavec). In the gardens and trees along the small stream you can find stehlík čížik in winter and žltochvost hôrny and penica obyčajná in summer. Sometimes you can also hear a slávik obyčajný here.
Very good are the fields around the whole area. During migration you can see ľabtuška lúčna, trsteniarik obyčajný, pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý (sometimes also staying over winter), jastrab veľký, skaliarik sivý, trasochvost žltý, penica popolavá and rarely krutohlav hnedý, cibík chochlatý and kaňa sivá. All year round you will find stehlík konôpka, škovránok poľný, volavka popolavá and sokol myšiar (pustovka). Sometimes you can also see jarabica poľná, jastrab krahulec or sokol sťahovavý.
