Description
Open ponds with reed fringes, mudflats and some islands for breeding birds. Apart from a variety of waders and waterfowl the area is quite good for raptors, e.g. sokol sťahovavý and orliak morský.
Typical breeding birds: kalužiak červenonohý, šabliarka modronohá, rybár riečny, slávik modrák, trsteniarik malý, chriašteľ vodný.
Migration: Any kind of wader, terns, ducks
Winter: potápač malý and many other duck species, many geese (particularly bernikľa bielolíca and hus bieločelá), divers, kulík zlatý.
Despite being created only recently the area already held a few national rarities: žeriav stepný (2014), breeding šišila bocianovítá (2014), pobrežník dlhonohý (2019).

The site can be accessed easily via Ölstraße from Diekmannshausen (2 km), either by car or by bicycle. No public transport available.
