Description
The Horbachpark was created as part of the state garden show of 1988. The little Horbach stream flows through the park and into a lake. There are many paths and benches throughout the park. The lake and the surrounding grass and reed fringes are home to labuť veľká, kačica divá, lyska čierna and sliepočka vodná. Around the edges of the park and beyond, there is an attractive mix of gardens and allotments. These host a good variety of Tits, Finches and Woodpeckers, including sýkorka hôrna, mlynárka dlhochvostá, glezg obyčajný, stehlík čížik and žlna zelená.
In the woods adjacent to the park, it is possible to observe sýkorka uhliarka, sýkorka chochlatá and králik zlatohlavý. Raptors like myšiak hôrny, haja červená and jastrab veľký can often be seen soaring over the woods and slopes above the town. If you're in Ettlingen the park is well worth a visit. It's also a great place to combine family time at the playground with a bit of birding.
