Access

The Hohwald forest is located northeast of the town of Neustadt. You can park at the edge of the forest or in designated hiking parking areas. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot. From the parking continue on foot through the forest and to the quarries. Depending on your starting point, the walk will take approximately 20 minutes to an hour. A detour to Valtenberg with its observation tower is also worthwhile. The circular walk of 6 km shown on the map is just a suggestion, as there are many other (an shorter or longer) trails you can follow.
