Description

The city of Freiburg is a real good place to observe dážďovník skalný. The Stuehlinger district west of the central station is one of the best areas to watch them. The season starts in mid March and lasts until the beginning of October. The best time to watch them is from short after sunrise until 1-2h later and from 1h before sunset till short after that.

The best places to watch the dážďovník skalný in the Stuehlinger district is next to the police station (Polizeipräsidium Freiburg) and the dorm of the academy (Personalwohnheim des Uniklinikums Freiburg (Personalwohnheim XII)). In the Escholzstrasse (street) you can see them cruising up and down while screaming there typical shouts. And next to the school (Hebelschule) is also a good place to watch. This is the place where the website Alpensegler-freiburg.de have placed their webcams (see the weblink below).
