Description
At the river Ahr are breeding kulík riečný and rybárik riečny. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding kuvik obyčajný (10 territories in 2020). strakoš obyčajný and svrčiak zelenkavý are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding slávik obyčajný , vlha obyčajná and ďateľ prostredný. You can also see haja tmavá and sokol lastovičiar during breeding time. In the little reedbed are trsteniarik bahenný and trsteniarik obyčajný (also common next to the Ahr). sedmohlások štebotavý and sedmihlások hájový can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like kršiak rybár and kalužiak perlavý. In winter you can see some wintering birds like vodnár potočný.

Access
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
