The interest of visiting La Levée de Matoury is to be able to observe the Toco Toucan in French Guiana. Indeed it is otherwise quite difficult to observe this species elsewhere in the country.

L'interet de venir observer sur cette petite portion de route est de pouvoir observer le Toucan toco en Guyane francaise. En effet il est sinon assez difficile d'observer l'espèce ailleurs sur le territoire.

Access
La Levée de Matoury is easily accessible from the Matourienne road, you have to take the intersection indicating La Levée and go to the end of the road. Press P on the map for directions. To have a chance to observe the Toco Toucan I advise you to walk the route several times.
