Description
The Carreau Franc ornithological reserve is a wetland of 23 hectare that is easy to access and has a bird hide to see the birds up close. The site has a breeding island for ground-breeding birds like rybár riečny. But many other birds breed here or make a migratory stop. Among the birds you can see are kormorán veľký, hrdzavka potápavá, škovránok poľný, kulík riečný, penica čiernohlavá, haja tmavá, beluša malá, chavkoš nočný and cibík chochlatý.

Français: Réserve Ornithologique du Carreau-Franc est d'intérêt majeur pour l'avifaune. Beaucoup d'oiseaux y effectuent une halte migratoire. Certaines espèces patrimoniales nichent sur le site au printemps : bihoreau gris, aigrette garzette, sterne naine. Les plans d'eau et les milieux herbacés humides à très secs acueillent également une faune et une flore riche. Certaines espèces rares y sont présentes : Leucorrhine à large queue (libellule), azuré des coronilles (papillon), Eleocharis acicularis (flore).
