Pointe de Chassiron is located at the end of the island of Oléron, and probably the most interesting place for the observation of pelagic birds (= seawatch), like sula biela, norec tenkozobý or even víchrovník baleársky.
The best time to observe seabirds, like any bird for that matter, is from dawn until noon. The only really interesting period for the seawatch is fall. You will then be able to observe a very large diversity of open sea birds, such as: hus divá, bernikľa tmavá, kajka morská, turpan čierny, potápač prostredný, potápka ušatá, potápka chochlatá, pomorník veľký, norec tenkozobý, alka vrúbkozobá, čajka vidlochvostá, čajka smejivá, čajka malá, čajka čiernohlavá, čajka sivá, čajka striebristá, čajka žltonohá, čajka tmavá, čajka morská, rybár malý, rybár sivý, rybár riečny, potáplica malá, potáplica veľká, víchrovníček morský, víchrovník baleársky, sula biela and finally kormorán chochlatý.
