Description
Mont Caroux represents the eastern limit of the Espinouse mountains. There is a rich forestry area where you can have a chance to see krutohlav hnedý, sedmohlások štebotavý, kolibiarik horský and brhlík obyčajný. There are also areas of heath which are home to strakoš obyčajný, haja tmavá and sup bielohlavý. And look out for orol skalný. More than 10 pairs breed in the area. Although visible all year round, this large raptor preferably performs acrobatic courtship displays in January and February. Other interesting birds you can see in the area are hadiar krátkoprstý, skaliar pestrý, skaliar modrý, výrik lesný, penica sivá králik zlatohlavý and strnádka cia. In winter you have a chance to see murárik červenokrídly, vrchárka červenkavá and snehárka vrchovská in the area.
