Description

Sougeal Marshes are the only regional nature reserve in north east Brittany. There is an excellent visitor centre (Maison du Marais) east of Sougeal village and two hides on the west side of the marsh. The southern one overlooks the pond where breeding birds congregate, including cibík chochlatý and šišila bocianovítá. When dry, there are public paths around and across the marsh, with parking at access points.

Spring passage birds include kačica chrapačka, brehár čiernochvostý and bojovník bahenný. Raptors in season may include kaňa močiarna, kaňa sivá and sokol lastovičiar. kukučka obyčajná , hrdlička poľná and sedmohlások štebotavý breed around the margins. hltavka chochlatá are abundant, with some beluša veľká, beluša malá, bocian biely and lyžičiar biely.

Il y a un excellent centre d'accueil (Maison du Marais) à l'est du village de Sougeal et deux observatoires d'oiseaux du côté ouest du marais. L'observatoire sud surplombe l'étang où se rassemblent les oiseaux nicheurs.

Access

Marais de Sougeal is located east of the village of Sougéal. Reach the area by car or bicycle, with parking at the visitor centre and access points to the reserve. The circular walk round the perimeter will take about three hours but most of the site may be viewed from the bird hides on the west side.

Français: Le Marais de Sougeal est situé à l'est du village de Sougéal. Vous pouvez rejoindre la zone en voiture ou à vélo, avec un parking au centre d'accueil et des points d'accès à la réserve. La promenade circulaire autour du périmètre prendra environ trois heures, mais la majeure partie du site peut être vue depuis l'observatoire des oiseaux du côté ouest.
