Floodplain island in the heart of the lower Angevin valley. In winter the river Maine floods the island, in summer the island can be visited on foot.

Description

Ile Saint Aubin is flooded in winter by the the river Maine. But from certain points on the banks it is then possible to observe hundreds of migratory and wintering ducks. For example kačica lyžičiarka, kačica chrapka, kazarka pestrá, kačica ostrochvostá, kačica hvizdárka and kačica chripľavka. And many other birds like geese, grebes and herons.

In late spring and summer the place forms an island surrounded by the Maine and Mayenne. Vast pastures interspersed with woodland then form the habitat, it is possible at this time to observe: strnádka trstinová, sokol lastovičiar, muchárik čiernohlavý, žľtochvost domový, pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý, rybárik riečny, sova lesná, lyžičiar biely, kaňa sivá, pŕhľaviar červenkastý, cistovník ryšavý, chavkoš nočný, beluša veľká, volavka purpurová, kršiak rybár, haja tmavá, strakoš obyčajný, rybár malý, rybár riečny, včelárik zlatý, strnádka lúčna, trasochvost žltý, trsteniarik malý, sedmohlások štebotavý and penica obyčajná.

Access

Ile Saint Aubin is located north of Angers. To get to Ile Saint Aubin, you must take the road Chemin Bas d'Epinard, to the ferry car park where you can cross. Click on the P in the map for directions. Please note the ferry only operates from April to November. In winter when you can only observe the area from the other bank, a telescope is generally necessary.

Français: Pour se rendre à l'Ile Saint Aubin, vous devez prendre la route chemin bas d'épinard, jusqu'au parking du bac ou vous pourrez traversser : Attention le bac opère du moi de avril à novembre. En hiver ou ne peux qu'observer la zone depuis l'autre berge, une longue-vue est en générale necéssaire.
