Île d'Aix

Île d'Aix is an island of approximately 1.20 km2 with many different habitats. There is a fairly large forest, mainly composed of conifers, but also species of deciduous trees. Among the species present in this environment, you find sýkorka uhliarka , sýkorka chochlatá or sýkorka belasá. During migration, muchárik čiernohlavý and žltochvost hôrny are very common. Some raptors are also present, such as sokol lastovičiar or jastrab krahulec, and, more rarely, jastrab veľký. Other breeding species usually sing in the undergrowth, such as vrchárka modrá, oriešok obyčajný, drozd plavý and červienka obyčajná.

Among the other areas of the island, there are large cereal crops, in which you can find other bird species, such as kuropta červená, bažant obyčajný, ľabtuška lúčna, škovránok poľný or trasochvost žltý. Birds of prey are also present, like sokol myšiar (pustovka) or myšiak hôrny. In migration, you find other species such as skaliarik sivý or pŕhľaviar červenkastý. In winter, very large groups of pinka obyčajná, pinka severská (ikavec), stehlík čížik and zelienka obyčajná are formed in fields.

Finally, the last main environment is made up of marshes, in which different species nest, such as šišila bocianovítá, šabliarka modronohá and cistovník ryšavý. In Autumn and Winter, these marshes offer refuge for many species of shorebirds, notably pobrežník čiernozobý, pobrežník malý, kalužiak tmavý, kalužiak perlavý, brehár čiernochvostý, hvizdák veľký, pobrežník hrdzavý and many others. At low tide, these birds generally feed on the mudflat which surrounds the island. Numerous gulls (breeding birds, migrants and winterers) are present on the island. You can observe čajka sivá, čajka striebristá, čajka žltonohá, čajka tmavá, čajka morská, čajka smejivá, čajka čiernohlavá and also terns like rybár sivý. Many other rarer species can be observed. The haja červená and the kršiak rybár are two migratory raptors quite present on the island in autumn.

Cette île d'environ 1, 20 Km2 possede un certain nombre d'habitats propices pour la biodiversité. D'autres espèces nicheuses chantent généralement dans les sous-bois, comme l' vrchárka modrá , le oriešok obyčajný , la drozd plavý , le červienka obyčajná.

Parmi les autres milieux de l'île, il y a de grandes cultures céréaliaires, dans lesquelles on peut retrouver d'autres espèces, comme la kuropta červená , le bažant obyčajný , le ľabtuška lúčna , l' škovránok poľný ou encore la trasochvost žltý ... Des rapaces sont aussi présents, comme le sokol myšiar (pustovka) ou la myšiak hôrny . En migration, on trouve d'autres espèces comme le skaliarik sivý ou le pŕhľaviar červenkastý. En hiver, de très grands groupes de pinka obyčajná , pinka severská (ikavec) , stehlík čížik et zelienka obyčajná se forment dans les champs.

Enfin, le dernier milieu principal est composé de marais, dans lesquels nichent différentes espèces, comme l' šišila bocianovítá , šabliarka modronohá et la cistovník ryšavý. En Automne et en Hiver, ces marais offrent refuge à de nombreuses espèces de limicoles, notament les pobrežník čiernozobý , pobrežník malý , kalužiak tmavý , kalužiak perlavý , brehár čiernochvostý , hvizdák veľký , pobrežník hrdzavý et bien d'autres. A marrée basse, ces oiseux s'alimentent généralement dans la vasière qui entoure l'île. De nombreus laridés, nicheurs, migrateurs et hivernants sont présents sur l'île. ON peut notament observer les čajka sivá , čajka striebristá , čajka žltonohá , čajka tmavá , čajka morská , čajka smejivá , čajka čiernohlavá et rybár sivý pour les plus communs. Mais bien d'autres espèces plus rares peuvent être observées. Le haja červená et le kršiak rybár sont deux rapaces migrateurs assez présents sur l'île en automne.

Access

The island is only accessible by boat. Best option is the ferry leaving from Fouras. All year round a daily ferry service connects the island to the Pointe de la Fumée at the far end of the Fouras peninsula. The crossing takes about 20 minutes (for more info on the tickets and time table see the link below). The island itself you can only explore on foot or by bike. You can rent bicycles on the island.

Français: L'île n'est accessible que par bateau, notament avec le ferri partant de Fouras. On ne peut la vister qu'à pied ou à vélo. Des vélos avec charrettes sont par ailleurs disponiles sur l'île pour une modique somme.

Many rarities have been observed on the island. Some examples: the čajka aztécka, present from August 24 to September 28, 2018, then from August 20 to 28, 2019. A škorec jednofarebný stayed from October 23 to 26, 2014. A čajka obrúčkozobá stayed from October 20 to November 1, 2004, then another on February 10, 2018. The kolibiarik žltkastotemenný is also a regular, almost annual, island guest.

Français: De nombreuses raretées ont été observées sur l'île. On peut notament citer la čajka aztécka , présente du 24 Août au 28 Septembre 2018, puis du 20 au 28 Août 2019. Un škorec jednofarebný est resté du 23 au 26 Octobre 2014. Un čajka obrúčkozobá est resté du 20 Octobre au 1 Novembre 2004, puis un autre le 10 Février 2018. Le kolibiarik žltkastotemenný est aussi un ôte régulier de l'île, presque annuel.
