Description
The Perruchet - Thellière ponds will be at their best between November and March. Both dabbling and diving ducks gather in variable numbers, at their highest if the weather has been cold for a while. There have been records of hlaholka severská and potápač veľký, but they have become less regular. Herons also breed in the surrounding trees. In spring, there are good chances for Včelár lesný, jastrab veľký and sokol lastovičiar.

Access
The ponds are easily accessed from Nogent le Rotrou, driving to La Loupe and Saint Eliph. A local road (D349) runs between the two ponds and secondary roads allow climbing uphill to watch the main pond from upsides - the birds will be farther but the view is easier than from the road and this place is also better for raptors. For bikers, Perruchet is a logical stopover in a circuit that could lead to the Montécot forest (good for woodpeckers and raptors) and the bocage around Saint Victor de Buthon.
