Cap de Carteret is a rocky headland that looks over Hatainville Dunes, offering an exceptional vantage point from which to view the Channel Islands and the sea.
Cap de Carteret is a rocky cape, 40 metres above the sea. High on the headland’s plateau, heathland covered with yellow-flowering gorse is home to the penica hnedá, while the krkavec čierny and the sokol sťahovavý amuse themselves around the steep-sided schist and sandstone cliffs where the annual rock rose grows. At the lighthouse, recently restored low dry-stone walls help preserve the site and guide visitors along the cliff tops of the Côte-des-Isles. Other birds you can see here are sokol myšiar (pustovka) and ľabtuška lúčna and of course sea birds. kulík piesočný, kamenár strakatý and lastúrničiar strakatý can be seen in winter.
