Description
Siipyy lintutorni (or Sideby fågeltorn) is a 15 meters high bird observation tower on the Gulf of Bothnia near the town of Sideby. On the east side of the tower is a forest, on the west side is the Gulf of Bothnia. You can of course see forest birds, but the tower is especially good for sea birds and migratory birds. Every year several rare bird species are observed from the tower. Bird that are seen more regularly include labuť spevavá, potápač veľký, potápač prostredný, turpan tmavý turpan čierny, ľadovka dĺhochvostá, potápka červenokrká, pomorník príživný, svišťúň zrkadlový, alka vrúbkozobá, potáplica malá, potáplica stredná, čegrava veľkozobá, rybár dlhochvostý and orliak morský.

Siipyy lintutorni is located 3 km southwest of the town of Sideby. Adjacent to the tower there is a barbecue area and a parking. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking.
