Crocodile Island is located in the river Nile. The reedbeds and wetlands line the shore on both sides of the bridge to the mainland. Look for beluša malá, hltavka chochlatá, volavka purpurová, sultánka modrá, sokol lastovičiar, sokol bielopazúravý, kaňa močiarna, rybárec strakatý, kršiak rybár, luniak sivý, wintering dabbling ducks and waders.
The hotel gardens are a refuge for smaller birds and migrants such as včelárik zlatý, včelárik východný, vlha obyčajná, výrik lesný, dudok chochlatý, hrdlička poľná, lelek lesný, krutohlav hnedý, strakoš obyčajný and various warblers.

Access
Luxor is a popular tourist destination with its own airport. Trains from Cairo take about 10 hours. Crocodile Island is located in the river Nile just south of Luxor. From the city centre there are plentiful buses and taxis.
