Area of more than 1,000 ha with dense coniferous forest, heath and klimper (dunes with a bog on top).
Frøslev Forest is close to the Danish-German border and contains a landscape with dense coniferous forest, heathland and shifting sand. Frøslev Plantage is a good place to spot lots of smaller songbirds but also birds of prey like jastrab veľký, jastrab krahulec, myšiak hôrny and sokol myšiar (pustovka). Also tesár čierny, lelek lesný, krutohlav hnedý, sova lesná and krkavec čierny. A characteristic bird is pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý, which has some of its most important Danish breeding grounds here. Frøslev is often visited by birdwatchers because many small birds have their northern distribution boundary here. The place is also known for several pairs of breeding žeriav popolavý.
Large parking lot at Frøslev lejren.
