Description
The Put van Vlissegem was created by the extraction of sand and clay and has salty water. Because the lake does not freeze over during the winter months, the lake attracts wintering water birds such as kačica hvizdárka, kačica lyžičiarka, kačica ostrochvostá, kačica chrapka and potápka čiernokrká. Breeding birds include trsteniarik malý, chriašteľ vodný, potápka malá, kazarka pestrá and chochlačka vrkočatá. During migration there is a chance of seeing wading birds such as kalužiak tmavý, kalužiak sivý, kalužiak perlavý, kalužiačik malý and bojovník bahenný. There is a bird hide on the western bank of the lake.
