The Engeland Plateau is an area of interest because you can see many species of forest or semi-forest birds; such as the hýľ obyčajný, glezg obyčajný, pinka obyčajná, pinka severská (ikavec) (in winter), stehlík čížik (in winter too), , brhlík obyčajný, králik zlatohlavý and králik ohnivohlavý, drozd červenkavý, drozd plavý, drozd trskota ; some woodpecker species such as ďateľ veľký, žlna zelená or ďateľ prostredný; and all the tit species present in Brussels (!): sýkorka belasá, sýkorka chochlatá, sýkorka veľká, mlynárka dlhochvostá, sýkorka uhliarka and sýkorka hôrna.

You can reach the site by bus with line 37 or 43. Bus stop Marentak, Pasteur, Verrewinkel. Often enough parking spaces nearby. Click on the P on the map for directions. The 2 main entrances are on Avenue Dolez and Chemin du Puits.

The myšiak hôrny is seen very frequently, as well as the žlna zelená, the ďateľ veľký, the sýkorka hôrna and the drozd trskota (less easy to see this one). In winter the stehlík čížik is very present on the set and we know to see them often, while the pinka severská (ikavec) is more discreet but is still present. In summer we can see the kolibiarik čipčavý; occasionally the kolibiarik spevavý, and the penica čiernohlavá is heard.
When it comes to birds of prey, the most common are: the myšiak hôrny and the jastrab krahulec, while the sokol myšiar (pustovka) can be seen less frequently (the jastrab veľký is quite rare but in flight with luck we can see it). Note that in summer it is possible to see the Včelár lesný passing overhead.
Near the western entrance is a small pond where you can see the kačica divá, the sliepočka vodná, the volavka popolavá and even the rybárik riečny!

En hiver le stehlík čížik est bien présent sur le plateau et on sait en voir souvent, tandis que le pinka severská (ikavec) se fait plus discret mais est quand même présent. En été on sait voir le kolibiarik čipčavý; occasionellement le kolibiarik spevavý, et la penica čiernohlavá se fait entendre.
Quand au rapaces, les plus fréquents sont: la myšiak hôrny et l' jastrab krahulec , tandis que on peut voir moins fréquement le sokol myšiar (pustovka) ( l' jastrab veľký est assez rare mais en vol avec de la chance on sait le voir). A noter que en été c'est possible de voir passer au dessus de soi la Včelár lesný.
Près de l'entrée ouest un petite mare dans un creux est visible, ou l'on peut voir le kačica divá, la sliepočka vodná, le volavka popolavá et même le rybárik riečny !
