Description

Hohnbachtal is an area of cultural and natural history. It is a nature reserve with wetland, forest and open spaces. These varied habitats have created a diverse bird fauna. Soils contaminated with heavy metals due to earlier ore mining, hence interesting Galmeiflora. Among the birds you can encounter are trasochvost horský, haja červená, brhlík obyčajný, kôrovník krátkoprstý, králik ohnivohlavý, ďateľ veľký, ďateľ prostredný, žlna zelená and tesár čierny.

Access

Parking along Lütticher Straße in Kelmis. Sturdy shoes are a good idea because it is often damp / muddy (except in summer). The path is narrow, partly steep, not barrier-free. On the map you see a circular walk of about 11 km. But you can also easily walk a shorter route.
