Description
Even the industrial/urban area in the north of this region harbours quite some good species in winter, like kačica hvizdárka, kačica chripľavka, chochlačka vrkočatá and chochlačka sivá. They can be common near te sewage works, as do gulls potápka malá and hus divá.
In recent years bučiak veľký has become almost annual (often more then one) and some years fúzatka trstinová turns up. There's a big breeding population of trsteniarik bahenný (>20 pairs) as do cetia západná and strnádka trstinová in small numbers. In some years even slávik modrák breeds here.

In winter this area often holds ľabtuška vrchovská. In wet years species as kačica chrapačka and kačica lyžičiarka can be breeding here. Irregular breeders are strnádka trstinová, cetia západná and pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý.
The area more to the south can hold rybárik riečny, trasochvost horský, pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý and the same species mentioned earlier, but chances on these are more remote.
