Description
The controlled tides of the Scheldt river give this birding spot some interesting characteristics. As the Bergenmeersen is quite far inland the brackish water and the tidal movement shape this area in a unique salt marsh and mudflats. During migration periods these mudflats attract wader birds like brehár čiernochvostý , šabliarka modronohá , kalužiačik malý , kalužiak sivý , kalužiak tmavý , kalužiak močiarny , pobrežník čiernozobý. On the wooden path that runs trough the area it's possible to see kúdeľníčka lužná and fúzatka trstinová in the reed beds (mostly during winter). Warblers like svrčiak zelenkavý , slávik modrák , trsteniarik malý and trsteniarik bahenný are easily to be heard from this wooden path during spring and early summer.
