Großkirchheim is a village within the Mölltal Valley, and part of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The area has green meadows, forested mountain slopes and on the bottom of the valley the Möll River. You can find birds of prey, forest birds such as ďateľ veľký, králik zlatohlavý, and various tit species such as sýkorka chochlatá. Along the Möll River you can find trasochvost horský and vodnár potočný.
