Description

Gaishorner See is an alpine lake located in the Paltental valley at an elevation of approximately 856 meters above sea level. The lake has reed-fringed shores and open water, and attracts typical wetland birds like volavka popolavá, kormorán veľký, kačica lyžičiarka, lyska čierna, strnádka trstinová and potápka malá. In spring and autumn, migratory bird species pass through. There’s an observation platform by the lake and a lakeside trail with information boards. In summer, the lake transforms into a recreational hub and this is therefore not the best time for a birding visit.
