Description

Secret Lake in Manchester is a former Victorian reservoir that has been gradually reclaimed by nature. This small rewilded reservoir on the Levenshulme–Reddish border is a peaceful little spot with a quiet woodland feel. Regular sightings of urban‑edge birds like Лебедь-шипун, Хохлатая чернеть, Камышница, Ополовник, Славка-черноголовка, Чомга, Снегирь, Черноголовый щегол, Пеночка-весничка, Обыкновенная зеленушка and Тростниковая овсянка.

Secret Lake is sits between Levenshulme and Reddish and can be reached via the Fallowfield Loop, a long, green, traffic‑free walking and cycling route that runs across south Manchester. The circular walking route around Secret Lake is less than 1 km.
