Description

Llandrindod Wells Lake is best avoided in high summer from a birding perspective due to the rafting, sailing and kayaking activities. In spring there may be Камышевка-барсучок, Тростниковая камышевка, Тростниковая овсянка, Обыкновенный зимородок, Малая белая цапля, Большой баклан, plus woodpeckers, Серая мухоловка, Мухоловка-пеструшка, Пеночка-весничка, Обыкновенная горихвостка and Вальдшнеп in the woods.

Access

Llandrindod Wells is 4 miles east of the A470 Rhayader-Builth Wells road. The train station is a stop on the scenic Heart of Wales line, see link below. The lake is at the southern end of the town. The figure of eight walking loop shown is 2 km.
