Honey Hill is in Western Northamptonshire.
Honey Hill (not to be confused with Honey Hill in Cambridge and Kent) is said by locals to have the best views in Northamptonshire. Beside the roadside layby (3 cars only) is the entrance to the site, head uphill along the long distance Jurassic Way (sometimes muddy following prolonged rain). On the grassy hill during Spring Серая славка, Теньковка, Славка-черноголовка , Пеночка-весничка and Садовая славка are possible moving from shrub to shrub. Канюк, Перепелятник, Красный коршун and Пустельга обыкновенная are often seen flying overhead. Зелёный дятел are often seen feeding on areas of short grass, also during Spring Белозобый дрозд, Каменка, Белая трясогузка ssp yarrellii very often accompanied by Белая трясогузка. For those with limited time the walk is out and back, but for those with more time you can continue (press STARS on map) on the Jurassic Way in a big loop back to the start.
Honey Hill is in Western Northamptonshire. Leave the M1 at Junction 18 signed Crick, on A428 follow signs to West Hadron (DO NOT ENTER West Hadron), but follow signs to Long Buckby/East Haddon/Harlestone/N'pton A428, at next roundabout turn Left signed Guilsborough/Cold Ashby, continue on road that sweeps sharply left signed Cold Ashby, in Cold Ashby turn Left signed Stanford/Swinford onto Stanford Road (or Yelvertoft Road). The parking layby eventually appears on the Left.
The Jurassic Way is a very popular walking and mountain biking route especially at weekends, an early morning weekday visit is probably best to avoid birds being disturbed by visitors.
