Efford Valley is in the Eastern part of the City of Plymouth.
Efford Valley in East Plymouth is surrounded by housing on all sides, it is high up giving views towards the River Plym Estuary (see separate entry) towards the South East. On it's Northern steep side is a former City Council Tree and Shrub Nursery (press STAR on map). Many of the nursery trees are still in situ, along with additional planting giving good tree cover. The area has mostly more commoner bird species but is one of those that virtually anything can turn up. Серая неясыть are frequently both seen and heard, with Обыкновенная зеленушка also on it's bird list along with the occasional Снегирь making an appearance, a bit of a rarity for urban Plymouth.
Buses from Plymouth City centre pass by the valley on nearby Blandford Road (just to the North) and Pike Road (just to the East), for those arriving by car Blandford Road and the fairly steep Pike Road are the best options, many surrounding roads have resident only or time restrictions in place. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 0,5 mile.
