Description
Bishop's Wood is well known for Обыкновенный козодой with several males churring throughout from May to July. It also has breeding Вальдшнеп that can be seen and heard roding late in the evenings. Other nightime avifauna includes Серая неясыть and Сипуха. If you are going for these reasons, plan to arrive an hour or so before sunset to get the lay of the land and spend till at least midnight - don't forget your torch!
During the day Лесной конёк, Обыкновенная кукушка, Певчий дрозд and other common woodland birds (thrushes, tits, etc.) can be found. Also a good spot for Клёст-еловик.

Access
Bishop's Wood is located just south-east of Market Drayton. It is easily reachable by car. Click P on the map for directions. If you are going at night, public transport would not be possible, but it is within cycle distance. The walking route shown on the map is about 5 km in total.
