From this spot right on the entrance to Dalbyviken you can see far and wide over the lake Ekoln.
If you want to see sea birds but do not want to go all the way to the coast, Vreta Udd is your best chance. In spring you can see Синьга, Морянка and Луток resting in the lake while other birds like Чернозобая гагара and Краснозобая гагара can be seen migrating north. Rarer species like Турпан and Малая чайка have also been spotted. This spot is right on the entrance to Dalbyviken and you can see a large amount of the lake. To observe the birds well a spotting scope is required.
By car one can drive from central Uppsala towards Enköping. Right outside of Uppsala you turn left towards Uppsala näs and follow the signs towards Vreta. Here you have to drive through the entire village until you reach a smaller parking lot on the right-hand side, the road does continue to the left, but you have to walk this stretch instead. From the parking lot it is maybe 300 meters to the spot.
Alternatively, you follow the signs towards Hammarskog where you can find a large parking lot adjacent to a large red barn. This parking lot is however far away, and it is better to take the one by the swimming area beyond this barn, on a gravel road that brings you closer to the bay.
