Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are Чомга, Лебедь-шипун, Болотный лунь and in some years Большая выпь,Серощекая поганка and Усатая синица. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are Красный коршун , Малый пёстрый дятел, Ополовник and Зелёная пересмешка. During migration periods large flocks of Серый гусь , Канадская казарка , Кряква and Чирок-свистунок stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially Канюк, Зимняк, Красный коршун, Чёрный коршун, Скопа and Орлан-белохвост.
