Small island that is connected to the mainland by a pier. The island is a nature reserve. It has good accessibility and lots of seabirds.
Norums Holme is located just south of Strandnorum. It is a wonderful place, only accessible on foot and well worth a visit. From the island you have good views of the Hakefjord. From mid-July, many waders rest along the shallow beaches on the inside of the island. During the autumn, a variety of birds gather here. Mainly larger amounts of geese and ducks. On the salt marshes and out on the island, a lot of migratory birds can be found. Among the birds you can encounter are Обыкновенная гага, Турпан, Тонкоклювая кайра, Гагарка, Длинноносый крохаль, Луток, Большой крохаль and Хохлатый баклан.
You can park at the garden market center along the road and walk from there. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. The island is connected by land by a pier, which means that even at fairly high water levels you can get there. Remember that you are moving close to people's homes. However, the road is clearly signposted. Close the gates for the animals.
