Description
South of Linköping lays a widespread area called Eklandskapet, within a short distance lays a number of old manors and mansions, and arround them old and preserved oakpastures. These biotops are full of life, mostly insects, fungie and lichen but also some nice birds. The pastures are the old park of Brokind mansion which lay at the shores of lake Järnlunden. Next to the mansion is an old lock ( still in use) whick connects the lake with the surrounding lakes and Kinna canal.
A walk through the pastures in spring and summer can give Серая неясыть, Сойка ,Мухоловка-пеструшка , Малый пёстрый дятел , Вертишейка , Гоголь (breeding in the oaks). At the lake Орлан-белохвост and Скопа can be seen fishing. Big flocks of Большой крохаль in winter.
In mid june its worth keeping an eye open for the Stag beatle who mates in the early summer evenings.
