Description

Broängarna Nature Reserve is divided by the peninsula Ängsholmen in a larger western part and a smaller eastern part. The reserve consists of reed-edged wet meadows, pastures and Broviken's extensive soft moor bottoms. Broängarna is located a few kilometres southeast of Bro. Many birds breed and rest in the reserve. Broängarna Nature Reserve is one of Stockholm's most bird-rich areas where about 230 different bird species have been recorded. Of these, about 80 species breed regularly. At Hästholmen there is a bird tower. Among the birds you can see are Бекас, Чибис, Обыкновенная кукушка, Болотный лунь, Большая выпь, Тростниковая камышевка, Камышевка-барсучок, Обыкновенный соловей, Луговой конёк, Обыкновенная чечевица, Коноплянка, Обыкновенная овсянка and Тростниковая овсянка.

Access

On the northern edge of the reserve there is a parking space, nature trail, barbecue facilities and a bird tower. The 3 kilometre long nature trail starts at the reserve car park and ends at Hästholmen. The bird tower in Broängarna Nature Reserve can be reached either via the nature reserve parking lot or from Bro, a walk of about 2 km.
