The Zupjek Bee-eater quarry houses a big colony of Золотистая щурка. Best chances of seeing the birds are the months of May, June and July. There is a bird hide to observe the birds quietly.
The Zupjek Bee-eater quarry is located about 15 km north of Brezice, on Zupjek road, near the village of Bizeljsko. The area is marked with a sign with a Золотистая щурка on it. All locals know the place. You can approach the quarry far by car. Then walk about 150 meters to the bird hide. Click on the P in the map for directions.
